Unlike other European capital cities, Rome has just two underground lines, together with some underground trains.
Rome underground map includes underground lines, underground trains, local and regional railways, the line to Ciampino, exchange car parks and buses’ terminuses.
Both line A (red) and line B (blue) of the underground guarantee a quick and efficient service, with trains even every minute at peak hours. Using ATAC tickets it is possible to catch underground trains, whose transit is in fact less frequent.
These are trains moving around the city or to the nearby areas. They travel both above ground and underground and get to places such as Ostia and Viterbo.
The main hub for undergrounds and trains is Termini station, where trains to Rome Fiumicino Airport depart, too.
Both line A and line B of the underground service run from 5.30 am to 11.30 pm (until 1.30 am on Fridays and Saturdays).
