The Urban Park of the Pinewood of Castel Fusano, located beside the coast, preserves a part of the pinewood, nearby the Ostia lido. The biggest natural reserve of the territory is the one of Decima-Malafede, more than 6000 hectare wide, where you can find woodlands, prehistoric settlements and several farmhouses. The reserve of Marcigliana presents beautiful hills full of oaks and maples, as well as several farmhouses and ancient mansions. Worthy visiting is also the reserve of Valle dell'Aniene, which embraces several bends of the river Aniene and includes the ancient Nomentano bridge. Here are some other reserves located in the city: Insugherata, Monte Mario, Valle dei Casali, Aguzzano, the Pineto park, Laurentino, Mezzalupetto, Tenuta dei Massimi, Galleria Antica and Secche di Tor Paterno. |
