The Teatro Sistina was inaugurated in 1949 with a film projection and is currently one of the most important theatres of the city as to prestige and dimension. This theatre has played a leading role in the history of the Italian musical, variety show and light comedy, by staging, from the very beginning, important plays with prominent national actors like Totò, Marcello Mastroianni and Nino Manfredi.

The theatre has a capacity of 1600 seats and mainly stages light comedies fit for the general public. It also foresees some shows tailored to teenagers. You can take out a subscription that lets you watch more than one play.
