The park of Villa Glori is located upon the Caciarello mountain, in the quartiere Parioli. It was opened after the First World War and named Parco della Rimembranza (Park of the Remembrance), in memory of the victims of the Villa Glori battle, and is currently dedicated to all Roman war victims.

A part of the trees was planted in 1924 by Roman students, who also attached a plate with the details of a dead soldier. The park presents a playing area for children and a pony hire area, as well as a beautiful 18th century mansion (closed to the public). In the villa square there’s also a First World War Memorial.

In the area you can admire a permanent sculpture exhibition called “Varcare la soglia” (crossing the threshold), aimed at experimenting an osmosis between nature and art. Here you can see works of art by Canevari, Mattiacci, Castagna, Kounellis, Staccioli and many more.

Upon the hill there’s also a 3rd century AD mausoleum, accessible from a path. The main access is from the Piazzale del Parco della Rimembranza. The area is open from 7 am to 7 pm. In the surrounding areas there are the Auditorium Parco della Musica and the Villaggio Olimpico.
