The Università degli Studi Roma Tre is the third public university of Rome as to number of students enrolled (about 35.000) and date of foundation, since it was inaugurated just recently, in 1992.
Roma Tre has got 8 faculties: Engineering, Economics, Law, Architecture, Mathematics Physics and Natural Sciences, Humanities and Philosophy, Political Science, Education Sciences.
Moreover, it numbers 29 departments, 30 undergraduate and 45 postgraduate degree courses, 66 masters (both 1st and 2nd level), 9 advanced training courses, 16 PhDs, 2 specialization schools and 5 doctoral schools. The Sistema Bibliotecario di Ateneo (SBA, the University Library System) includes 4 libraries which number a total of 500.000 documents both in paper and electronic format. Part of the university complex are also a chapel, a theatre (Teatro Palladium) and a choir (Coro Polifonico “Roma Tre”).
Moreover, it also boasts the only university orchestra operating in the region, the Orchestra Roma Tre, which was founded 5 years ago.
The university has three main campuses in the following areas: Ostiense/Marconi-San Paolo, Castro Pretorio (Education Sciences Faculty) and Cavour (Architecture). The Dean's Office and the Admissions Office are located in Via Ostiense.
THE LOGORoma Tre logo presents the outline of a stylized gate, resulting from the superimposition of 13 segments, with a white triangle inside. The symbols evoke the Gate of Saint Paul and the Pyramid of Gaius Cestius, both situated nearby the university.
